Efficient Blending at the Singular Particle Level

With the T.K. Filmix, an upper motor spins mixing paddles that are about the same diameter as the tank to disperse material and form a thin film. When the spinning thin film is completely removed, a hollow column is formed in the center.

Then, let us consider what happens when a dry, powder substance is added to the column. It is taken up by the air in the middle of the column generated by the spinning paddles to create a strong cyclone flow so when it comes into contact with the high-speed spinning film, single particles are mixed for an extremely effective, stable mixture. Examples are shown below. These examples are test data result for "Powder Filmix" for the purpose of demonstrating the special features in mixing of fluid and solid material.

Solution of Rheology Modifiers
High polymers such as rheology modifiers most commonly represented by CMC and Carbopol. Because high polymers are highly soluble in water, normally the powder has a tendency to form clumps in contact with water and only the surface dissolves, forming what is called "clumps," that are difficult to dissolve. In some cases, it can take up to 24 hours to dissolve these clumps. However, by mixing before adding to water using the T.K. Filmix mixing technology, high polymers dissolved in water, evenly and much faster with a smooth, even texture absent of clumps.

Greater Efficiency of Fast Reactions
This is a test to combine a saccharide with pharmaceuticals in water soluble solution. Because a saccharide is readily soluble in water, it dissolves almost completely before there is any contact to the medication under regular mixing conditions. Therefore, when a propeller type method of mixing is used, generally an excess of saccharide must be used to take into consideration the volume that will be dissolved in water. The end result is that 99.9% of the most costly material is wasted. By using a Filmix, however, the excess can be reduced by 50% and still effectively generate the desired effect while reducing waste of a costly material. In other words, Filmix breaks down the saccharide (dried powder) into the a size that is readily reactive and when added to entire fluid at high speeds, it is possible promote a reaction of saccharide and un-reacted medicine to a very high degree.
